Questions we actually get asked
Straight answers about Ukraine entry insurance — no filler
Yes. Under Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine on Insurance, every foreign national entering Ukraine must hold valid health insurance. This is a hard legal requirement — without it, you can be refused entry at the border.
Under 5 minutes, start to finish. Fill in your details (2 minutes), pay by card (1 minute), receive your PDF (under 2 minutes). Most customers get their policy before they finish packing.
A digital PDF on your phone is accepted at all Ukrainian border crossings — land, air, and sea. You do not need to print anything. A printout is optional, but the digital version is fully valid.
You will likely be asked to purchase insurance on the spot — at a higher price and from limited options — or face being turned away. Ukrainian border officers check insurance documents routinely from foreign nationals.
Check your spam folder first. If it is not there within 15 minutes of payment, email us at info@insuranceforvisitukraine.com with your order details and we will resend it immediately.
The Advanced plan covers medical treatment directly caused by military conflict — injuries from shelling, explosions, or armed incidents. It also includes radiation exposure protection. The Basic plan does not include these risks.
Yes. Our policies meet the requirements set by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are accepted by Ukrainian embassies and consulates worldwide as proof of insurance for visa applications.
Yes, you can buy insurance after entering Ukraine — but Ukrainian border control checks insurance on entry, not during your stay. If you entered without insurance, you are already in violation of Article 7. Buying retroactively does not fix a past border infraction, but it does give you coverage for your current stay and for future crossings.
Yes. Our policies are accepted by Ukrainian embassies and consulates as proof of health insurance for visa applications. They meet the requirements set by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If an embassy specifies a minimum coverage amount, our Advanced plan (€30,000) satisfies all standard Ukrainian visa requirements.
Coverage is available from 3 to 180 days. The duration must be set at purchase — mid-trip extensions are not available through the website. If you need to stay longer than planned, email us at info@insuranceforvisitukraine.com and we will help you find a solution.
Call the emergency number printed on your policy PDF — this is your 24/7 insurance hotline, operated by the insurer. They speak English and coordinate directly with medical providers. Do not pay out of pocket and then claim reimbursement. Call the hotline first and they will arrange cashless treatment wherever possible.
The Advanced plan's war risk coverage pays for medical treatment caused by military conflict — injuries from shelling, explosions, debris, or armed incidents. It also covers radiation exposure. It does not cover property damage, evacuation from conflict zones (this is a separate service), or injuries from voluntarily engaging in military activity. It is medical coverage only, not a security service.
Each person travelling to Ukraine needs their own individual policy — policies are issued in one person's name and tied to their passport number. A parent can purchase on behalf of a child, but each child needs a separate policy. If you are coordinating insurance for a large group, email us at info@insuranceforvisitukraine.com and we can help simplify the process.
Yes. Our policies are accepted at all official Ukrainian border crossings. This includes land checkpoints — Shehyni–Medyka (Poland), Yahodyn–Dorohusk (Poland), Uzhhorod–Vyšné Nemecké (Slovakia), Porubne–Siret (Romania), and all other active crossings — as well as international airports (Boryspil, Lviv, Uzhhorod) and river crossings.
There is no maximum age limit. Children of any age can be insured — a parent or guardian must complete the purchase. The policy is valid regardless of the insured person's age. For travellers over 65 or with pre-existing medical conditions, we recommend the Advanced plan for maximum coverage.
